Hello. My name is Noah and for my 20% project I am doing switch hitting. This week I hit off a machine and did well. I could have done better but it was very good for lefty. My big struggle was getting bat to ball. Although it was hard for me to get bat to ball when I did it was a well hit ball up the middle or pulling. I hit three rounds of ten and I went nineteen for thirty. Out of those nineteen I hit I hit thirteen of them up the middle and the rest I pulled to around second base. One thing I’m going to fix is that I want to hit more opposite field. Having the mindset to hit opposite field means that if I am late on a pitch it’s fine because to will go straight up the middle for a base hit. Thank you and have a great day.
My Favorite Memories
I have three favorite memories from this school year. They consist of learning how to cook in home ec. Learning how to sew in home ec. And last but not least is getting my classes. I loved learning how to cook because I love being in the kitchen and having nothing but bland tasting food and making into a amazing breathtaking sensational dish that is loved or hated by many. I also loved being able to sew. Sewing is a very fun thing to do in your free time and it is also a very useful skill. For example I have a ripped shirt and instead of tossing it and going to spend twenty buck on a shirt all I have to do is take five minutes to sew a little hole and boom. When I first went on to aeries and saw my classes I was so happy. I got the two electives I wanted and I got all the teachers I wanted. On top of all the good classes and all the good teachers, I got l the good periods. My first four periods are my most important periods. Starting with core for two periods then moving to science and then to math. My next period after that is home ec. Home ec is an important class but it is not more important that my first four. After home ec I get pe and woodshop. Pe is a fun environment and woodshop is a working environment and I love both. Thank you for reading my last and final blog.
20% Project Week 5
Hello my name is Noah. For my 20% project I am doing switch hitting. This week my accomplishment was I hit off a machine. This was huge. By me doing this I have unlocked the ability to hit a fast ball inside. The machine was throwing around sixty five. For my age group that’s pretty fast. I hit it lefty. Although that’s great news with all the good comes the bad. I got seven pitches and only hit one of those seven. It was a great hit but I only hit one. Next week I’m going to lower the speed to about fifty. This way I can hit more reps but slower. Once I can do that I can go to fifty five the sixty the sixty five and by the time I’m at sixty five I’ll be able to hit nukes. Next week I’m going to work on making more consistent hits. Thanks for reading and i’ll see you next week.
Satisfactory and Happiness
Happiness and satisfaction isn’t based off what you have rather than how you use what you have. As you can see with the picture on the left there is a kid with almost every game and toy imaginable, yet he seems like he is having a horrible time and is devastated. Not only does he have all the toys and games. He is also living in a nice house where we can assume that he doesn’t have to work that hard besides school Now if we look at the picture on the right he one toy and is in a very poor area where he has to do much work just so he can live. We can also see that he doesn’t have a nice home and has very minimal nice things.
My Favorite Room in My Home
My favorite room in my home is my garage. There are three main reasons my garage is my favorite room. Number one is because I have my gaming setup. I love my gaming setup. I love playing video games with friends and watching shows on my computer. I also love the privacy because no one comes in that often and I get a chance to get some quiet time while I game. Reason number two. My fridge. See like most homes there is a garage. And in the garage there is a fridge. I am lucky enough to be one of those people to have a fridge. So while I am gaming or watching a show. I get to go to my fridge and eat or drink anything in there. I also have my food in my garage. It’s kind of like a mini pantry in my garage. So far I have the best garage ever. I mean I could live In there for a super long time. I have games and I have food. But to top it all off. Drum roll pleaseeeeeeee. A mini gym. Yes. A mini gym. See my brother got it for his birthday and I like to use it. It’s a great way to become a better person/ player and it is a great way to get my anger out. I also like to work out. Now I know it was only supposed to be three reasons but I’m adding a fourth reason because I am such a rebel. I also love my garage because I have all my fun toys like my bike my scooter my hover board and my rip stick. This makes the garage kind of messy but when I clean it all up I have a big area to ride back and fourth. So I have a gaming setup to keep me busy forever. I have a fridge/ mini pantry so I can eat with out leaving my man cave. I have a mini gym to workout and get strong. And last but most definitely not least are my toys. It’s like the perfect man cave. That rounds up my favorite room and I will see you next week!
20% Project
Hello my name is Noah and for my 20% project I am doing switch hitting. This week my big accomplishment was hitting off my friend throwing. He wasn’t throwing that fast maybe twenty miles per hour but still a very big step forward. While I was hitting there was no struggle. This week I fixed my last weeks problem of step then swing. This week’s adjustments is I am going to use a heavier bat so my bat speed is increased so when I use my normal bat I swing faster. Next week I am going to go to a park and have my friend pitch to me so I can get game like repetitions. I am also going to hit in practice so I can get used to it so I can get to my big goal of getting a base hit in game. Thank you and I will see you next week.
Radical Reading – April
This month I read the book call Ghost by Author Jason Reynolds. The book is about a boy named castle who is a very poor boy. He was walking home from school one day when he saw a track practice going on. He decided it sit down and watch it for a little bit because he had no where else to be. After sitting and watching for a little bit, he noticed that there best player, Lu was a very cocky kid. He then took it upon himself that the next time Lu did the 100 yard dash that he would race him. Once that time came he went to race and smoked him. This made Lu and the mother very upset, but the coach was the exact opposite. Then coach then ran over to castle and asked him his background story and how he got so fast. He told him that his father tried to kill him with a gun while drunk. He missed every shot because he was running so fast and he was like a ghost. He was asked to join the track team but he had to ask his mom first. His mom gave it the okay and he has been running with him for a while. He didn’t have the money to buy shoes so he was running in converse. He decided to steal a pair of shoes from a store. That store is also where the coach got the uniforms from. He saw a sign that read shop lifter When he got to practice he gave everyone there uniforms but ghost because he saw the sign. I liked this book because it picked up so fast and he never had down sides he was all ways so good. My favorite character is Lu because he is so funny. One quote to prove this is when they were all at dinner and the coach made them say something that we didn’t know and he said this “I’m albino.” Every knew he was that and he just said that as a joke. And that’s why I love him so much.
20% Week 3
Hello my name is Noah and for my 20 percent project is switch hitting. My goal by the end of the school is be able to get a base hit in a game lefty. One of my achievements is that I’m hitting very good for lefty off the tee and the ball has a good launch angle and it’s a good hit. One of my struggle is that swinging lefty when someone is soft tossing me the pitch I can’t seem to connect with the ball. When I do connect it is a very bad hit and is an out. And adjustment I need to make is not dripping my hands. Not dropping my hands means I can hit the ball good and get a base hit. Next week I am going to field hit with some friends and I am going to try to hit left handed for the most part to get a better swing. Thank you.
20% project blog number one
Hello, my name Is Noah and for my 20 percent project I am learning how to hit ambidextrous in baseball. That means know how to hit lefty and righty. For the first week I have made great progress and got down my fundamentals and can swing the bat with good form. All though I made great achievements I had a few struggles. Learning to hit opposite hand is hard and when I didn’t get it it made me really frustrated but that is all part of the progress. Next week I plan to get even better with the fundamentals and start hitting off of my tee and soft toss. Next week I will also learn to bunt left handed. As an overall my first week was a great success and I am feeling great with my progress so far and can’t wait to achieve my goal. Thank you and I will see you next week
20% Project Week 2
Hello. My name is Noah My 20 percent project is learning how to switch hit. Last week I learned the fundamentals. This week I learned how to bunt and continued on my fundamentals. This week on top of fundamentals I am starting to cage hitting. I can’t hit the ball that well yet but I am making good contact and going along smoothly. My main struggle is that my hands and body don’t sync up meaning that my hands swing then my legs go. Another one of my struggles is that my bat speed has a major deficiency while swinging left handed. Another way I can fix this is by swinging a heavier bat at practice then in practice use a lighter one to make it feel lighter and swinging faster. Thank you and I will see you next week.
